95-year-old Mt. Carmel, Illinois resident and formerly of Browns, Illinois Phyllis Lorraine Garner died Monday February 4, 2013 at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She was an employee of General Telephone Company of Olney, Illinois for 28 years and a member of Browns Christian Church and First Christian Church of Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Lorraine was born May 9, 1917 in Browns, Illinois to Lloyd and Eva Harmon Garner. Survivors include 4 nephews Gary Garner of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Jerry Garner of Albion, Illinois, David Garner of Bone Gap, Illinois, and Chuck Painter of Browns, Illinois; 1 niece Donna Doty of Albion, Illinois; and 1 sister-in-law Doris Shain of Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Garner, sister Emma Painter, and nieces Linda Boyer and Georgia Painter. Services for Phyllis Lorraine Garner will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Nales Funeral Home of Albion, Illinois with Brothers Brad Garner and Jim Summers officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Albion, Illinois. Visitation will be conducted at the Nales Funeral Home of Albion, Illinois Thursday February 7, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial may be made to the Edwards County and Wabash County Historical Societies and envelopes are available at Nales Funeral Home in Albion.
