Richard K. Leigh

90-year-old Albion, Illinois resident Richard K. Leigh died at 5:30 1.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He had been a farmer, school bus driver, and worked 9 years at Champion Laboratories. Richard served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Albion and the American Legion and VFW.

Richard was born June 20, 1927 in Albion, Illinois to Charles Leigh and Ruby Lester Leigh. He was united in marriage March 7, 1951 in West Salem, Illinois to Iva Lou Masterson.

Survivors include his wife Iva Lou Leigh of Albion, Illinois; a son Daniel Leigh of Owensboro, Kentucky; a daughter Janice Doan and her husband Marty of Albion, Illinois; 2 brothers Benny Leigh and his wife Joyce of Parkersburg, Illinois and Bob Leigh and his wife Mary of Albion, Illinois; a sister Glenna Parker of Terre Haute, Indiana; 2 grandsons Mason Doan and his wife Rachel of Evansville, Indiana and Tyler Doan of Evansville, Indiana; and 3 great grandchildren Emme, Tyson, and Chloe.

Richard was preceded in death by is parents, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Funeral services for Richard K. Leigh will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 28, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Albion, Illinois. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Albion, Illinois.

Visitation will be conducted Wednesday December 27, 2017 after 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Albion, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Albion or Graceland Cemetery and envelopes will be available at the church or Nale's Funeral Home in Albion.
