92 year old Fairfield, Illinois resident Robert V. Carter died at 1:35 a.m. Sunday February 4, 2018 at Liberty Village in Marion, Illinois. He was the Superintendent for oil field production for Simpson Oil Development in Carmi from 1958 to 1986. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairfield.
Robert was born April 1, 1925 in Wayne County, Illinois to Silas Carter and Hattie Phillips Carter. He was united in marriage August 18, 1951 in McLeansboro, Illinois to Idalene Todd who died November 30, 2015.
Survivors include a daughter Lana Larsen and her husband Glen of Carterville, Illinois; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Idalene, a daughter Linda, 1 sister, 4 brothers and 4 half-siblings.
Funeral services for Robert V. Carter will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 10, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church in Burnt Prairie, Illinois with Rev. David Melvin officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Fairfield, Illinois with full military rites conducted bu the Anthony Wayne Post 176 and Wayne Memorial VFW Post 4535.
Visitation will be conducted from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 10, 2018 at the Liberty Baptist Church in Burnt Prairie, Illinois, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the WADI-Fairfield Senior Citizens Meals or the Liberty Baptist Cemetery and envelopes will be available at the church and Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois.
