82-year-old Fairfield resident, Robert F. Chesnick died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at Wayfair Restorium in Fairfield. He had been a Teamster who worked loading barges in St. Louis for many years. He was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Fairfield. Robert Chesnick was born July 21, 1928 in St. Louis to Leonard and Mary Toczek Chesnick. Survivors include a sister-in-law, June Chesnick of California; two local nephews, John and Mike Zurliene, both of Fairfield ; and a niece, Mary Claire Carr of Columbus, Ohio as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. Graveside services for Robert F. Chesnick will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield with Father Michael Mboni officiating. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
