Robert "Bob" Stewart

83 year old Fairfield resident, Robert “Bob” Stewart, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Skilled Care Unit of Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield, Illinois.

Bob was born on August 30, 1940 in Wayne County, Illinois to John A. and Mary O. (Reed) Stewart. Bob had worked several years as an auditor for the Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission.

Survivors include one son; Nick (Lindsey) Stewart of Effingham, IL, 2 daughters; Jennifer (Ron) Rice of Normal, IL and Kimberly (David) Jones of Effingham, IL, one sister; Kay Hillegeist of Fairfield, IL.  5 grandchildren; McKenna Stewart-Sampson, Raquel Rice, Hunter Stewart, Mason Stewart & Max Stewart. Along with several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 6 sisters.

Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Stewart will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2024 at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will follow in the Burnt Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to time of services at Nale’s.

Memorials may be given to the Wayne County Historical Society.
