Roger D. Bircket

Roger D. Bircket, 74, of Fairfield, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Roger was born in Wayne County on April 6, 1951. 

Roger was a familiar face in the Geff area. He delivered the mail from the surrounding post offices to Fairfield for years.  He enjoyed decorating the veteran’s graves with flags for Memorial Day. Roger lovingly took care of his mother. Following the death of his brother, Gerald, he took over planting a huge garden and generously shared his harvest with friends in the community.

Roger is survived by his sister, Janet (Jerry) Pepple of Valparaiso, Indiana; two nieces, Joda (Ken) Gibson of Henderson, Nevada, and Jyl (Nate) Steele of Valparaiso, Indiana.  Three great-nieces, Kelsey and Kayla Gibson and Caroline Steele also survive.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents H.T. and Norma Bircket.  Two brothers, Ray Carroll Bircket and Gerald Ray Bircket also preceded him in death.

Per Roger’s wishes, the body was cremated with private burial services held at Bestow Cemetery in Geff, Illinois.
