60-year-old former Edwards County, Illinois resident Russell W. Beadles of Keenes, Illinois died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at his residence. He owned and operated K & R Propane. Russell was a member of the Keenes Baptist Church. Russell was born June 4, 1953 in Fairfield, Illinois to Rudy and Lenore Cullison Beadles. He was united in marriage April 7, 1972 in Albion, Illinois to Kathy Johnson. Russ and Kathy lived and farmed in Ellery before moving to the Keenes area in 1994. Russ loved to farm, weld, truck, and play football. At the age of 37 Russ returned to the football field starting on Special Teams for Campbellsville University where he attended school. He graduated in 1992 with a degree in psychology. Hard work was not a stranger to Russ. He worked at many different jobs and many times more than one job at a time. Many remember Russ from the Farmer's Mill in Albion. He and Clyde Reid were always up to something. During Russ's 18 years with George Smith Ag Service he became well known as "No Cuss Russ". In 2011 Russ and Kathy started K & R Propane. Russ was ordained in 1986 and then served as minister for Elm River Missionary Baptist Church, Ten Post Oak Baptist Church, and Keenes Baptist Church. Russ's life was dedicated to serving the Lord and leading people to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. Russ always thought of others and spent many hours helping everyone and anyone. Russ loved his family and especially his grandsons. Russ devoted many a day helping his son and grandsons improve their football skills, tinkering with machinery, and most importantly, teaching them to love the Lord.
