Ruth (Hallam) Wick

97 year old Albion resident, Ruth Wick passed away at the Wabash Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center in Carmi, Illinois on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Ruth was born in Albion, Illinois on March 10, 1927 to Everett “Doc” and Louella (Bunting) Hallam .  She married Glenn “Bill” Wick on October 25, 1945 in Marion, Illinois. Bill preceded her in death on March 10, 1968.

Ruth retired from Johnny Manufacturing after working there 21 years. She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Ruth is survived by 1 daughter; Glenna Hamblin of Carmi, Illinois, 1 son; Marvin (Ardis) Wick of Albion, Illinois. 4 grandchildren; Brad (Kim) Wick, Clint (Carrie) Wick, Jeff (Jamie) Wick, Amy (Eric) Balding. 6 great grandchildren; Trenton, Cody, Ridge, Sadie, Casey & Jorden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Bill, 2 sisters; Kathleen Vallette and Eva Denbo, 1 brother; Dean Hallam and a son-in-law; Maurice Hamblin.

Funeral services for Ruth Wick will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Nale’s Funeral Home in Albion with burial in Graceland Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday evening, 5 to 7 p.m. at Nale’s Funeral Home

Memorials may be made to Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
