Sammie F. Smith

79-year-old Mill Shoals, Illinois resident, Sammie F. Smith died at 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield, Illinois. He was an oilfield worker having worked for Woods and Woods for several years. Sammie was born November 13, 1933 in Wayne County, Illinois to Samuel and Lucille Stultz Smith. He was united in marriage December 22, 1961 to Mabel Musgrove in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Survivors include his wife, Mabel Smith of Mill Shoals, Illinois; three sons, David Smith of Enfield, Illinois, Randy Smith and his wife LuAnn of Mount Vernon, Indiana, and Samuel F. Smith, Jr. of Illinois; a daughter, Jennifer Hargrove of Monee, Illinois; three brothers, Verl Smith and his wife Carolyn, Earl Smith and his wife Freda, and Norvel Smith all of Fairfield, Illinois; two sisters, Lucretia Isle and her husband Harvey and Frances Bell and her husband Ivan all of Fairfield, Illinois; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body is to be cremated and a service to be conducted later.
