Sammy Joe Eastep

53-year-old Altamont, Illinois resident, Sammy Joe Eastep died at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his residence. Sammy was born June 14, 1958 in Fairfield to Lee Roy and Frieda Savage Eastep. Survivors include his parents, Earl & Frieda Smith of Fairfield; a son Jeremy Eastep of Effingham, Illinois; a special friend Katie Cecilia of Altamont; 2 half brothers Rodney Eastep of Newton, Illinois and Terry Eastep of Illinois; and a half sister Sherry Eastep of Illinois. His father, 1 brother David, and his grandparents preceded Sammy Joe in death. A private graveside service for Sammy Joe Eastep will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and envelopes are available at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield.
