Shirley Carringer Obituary

87 year old Fairfield resident, Shirley R. Carringer, passed away at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, Illinois on Tuesday, February 15, 2022.

Shirley was born November 20, 1934 to Raymond and Hellen (Schwarz) Shilling. Shirley spent most of her life living in the Alton, Bethalto area. She had worked for several years at SIU Edwardsville as a secretary.

Shirley is survived by three sons; Jeff (Stephanie) Grieve of Fairfield, Robert Grieve of Bethalto, Illinois and Bryan (Staci) Grieve of Brighton, Illinois. One daughter; Cindy (Bill) Monroe of Bethalto, Illinois. One sister; Betty Simmons of Belleville, Illinois. 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers and 1 daughter.

Per Shirley’s wishes, her body has been cremated with interment of ashes to be held at a later date.
