97-year-old Albion resident, Thelma Ruth Aulvin, died at 7:55 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at her home. She was a homemaker, and member of the First United Methodist Church of Albion, 20th Century Club, Eastern Star and Wesley Belle Circle. Thelma Ruth was born August 16, 1915 in Edwards County to William and Lillie B. Vincent Bowers. She was united in marriage November 11, 1956 to L.D. Aulvin. Surviving are three care-givers, Kay Jones, Debbie Cochran and Gloria Frankland; the congregation of the First United Methodist Church; five nieces Belva, Rosie, Debbie, Sarah, and Martha; two nephews Jack and George Ray Aulvin; and several great-nieces and nephews. Thelma Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband L.D. Aulvin, 6 sisters, and 1 brother. Funeral services for Thelma Ruth Aulvin will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Albion. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 until the time of service at the church.
