94 year old long former Mill Shoals resident, Thelma Watkins Roy, passed away at Nixa, Missouri on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
Thelma was born July 17, 1927 to Arthur and Afton (Newby) Redmon in White County, Illinois. She married William Logan Watkins, February 23, 1946. Following his death, she later married Amos Clinton “Jack” Roy on June 28, 1984. Both husband preceded her in death.
Thelma was a self-employed beautician and hair stylist.
Thelma is survived by her daughter in law, Shirley Jean Watkins, 2 grandchildren, William Tracy Watkins and Kelly Lynn Watkins, 2 great grandchildren, Haley K. Gatewood and Chelsea Fury, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 1 son, William Larry Watkins, 1 brother, Robert “Bob” Redmon and 1 sister, Joann Hart.
Graveside services for Thelma Roy will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2022 at Shrewsbury Cemetery in Mill Shoals, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield. Please remember CDC guide lines of social distancing.
