Veda Johnson

83 year old Fairfield, Illinois resident Veda Johnson died at 3:15 a.m. Friday November 17, 2017 at her residence. She had worked at Independent Oil Company, Airtex, and the Wayne County Health Department.

Veda was born December 30, 1933 in rural Springerton, Illinois to Delbert Carter and Nell Canterbury Carter. She was united in marriage August 7, 1957 in Springerton, Illinois to Marshall Johnson.

Survivors include her husband Marshall Johnson of Fairfield, Illinois; a son Sam Johnson and his wife Wendy of Chicago, Illinois; a daughter Julie Johnson and friend Heather of Evansville, Indiana; and 2 grandchildren Andrew and Nicole Johnson.

Veda was preceded in death by her parents and 6 brothers.

Funeral services for Veda Johnson will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday November 20, 2017 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois with Brother Justin Odom officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, Illinois.

Visitation will be conducted from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday November 19, 2017 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
