Walter "Pat" Bailey

92 year old Fairfield resident, Walter D.“Pat” Bailey passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.

Pat was born on July 14, 1931 to Ralley and Tess (Thomason) Bailey in Sims, Illinois. He married the love of his life, Jennie Hollinger on November 8, 1951 in Fairfield, IL. They shared 72 years together. Pat was known as a professional timberman. He started cutting trees at an early age.   He was self- employed all his working career.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie of Fairfield, IL. 2 sons; Phillip (Dana) Bailey of Fairfield and Dale Bailey of Carbondale, Illinois. 2 daughters; Janice (Ed) Dees of Fairfield and Pat (Ed) Hoke of Carbondale, Illinois.  6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, 1 daughter, Carol and 1 granddaughter, Ora

Funeral services for Pat Bailey will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2024 at Nale’s Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to service time at Nale’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
